MIT - SMF CO-ORGANISED SEMINAR:
EXCLUSIVELY FOR MIT TENANTS
Mapletree Industrial Trust (MIT) and SME Centre @ Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SME Centre@SMF) joined hands for the first time on 22nd April 2014 to organise a seminar exclusively for our MIT tenants. The HR and Productivity Solutions seminar aimed at updating our tenants about the various types of government funding available for SME businesses.
MIT sponsored the event venue at Mapletree Business City and the catering, which was provided by one of our F&B tenants. SME Centre@SMF provided the speakers and the information for the seminar. The outreach to our tenants about the event was via posters, emails, phone calls and flyers. With over 100 tenants in attendance, the collaboration proved to be a great success.
The seminar provided a good opportunity for our MIT tenants to learn more about the various government funding and schemes that could assist them in their businesses. At the same time, the government agencies were able to achieve better SME outreach and engagement. Representatives from SME Centre@SMF presented some of the most popular government funding schemes at the seminar. To give tenants a clearer picture of how their businesses can benefit from these tools, we invited Mr Nelson Lim, CEO of TranZplus Engineering, to give a real-life account. Mr Lim described how his company’s operations had become more efficient after SME Centre@SMF had advised him to implement productivity toolkits such as 5S and Kaizen.
At the end of the seminar, our tenants were given the opportunity to speak 1-to-1 with the Business Advisors from SME Centre@SMF. Through the private consultation sessions, the Business Advisors were able to provide answers tailored to the tenant’s business type. Many tenants responded favourably to the seminar, stating that they would like to attend similar events in the future.
